Hello and Welcome

Hello, I’m Deborah Briers, a writer based in Dorset, England. I’m currently working on my first novel, set 100 years ago, in Johannesburg. When I’m not writing, I enjoy reading historical fiction and visiting heritage organisations.

With my reading, I love sharing my responses to a book I’ve read, or a film or play I’ve just seen, or sometimes even a good TV drama or documentary. And getting others’ reactions is even better. So, I’ve created this blog for fans of historical fiction and for people who enjoy visiting museums or going to heritage events as well as those who simply like ‘Social History’.

Each month, I aim to review a book that I’ve read. I keep my summaries brief whilst avoiding ‘spoilers’ – so they should quickly help you to assess whether you want to delve into that story, or not.

And for those who like Social History and visiting places of historical interest, I include some of the organisations I would recommend and any upcoming events or documentaries I get to hear about.

I hope you enjoy my posts as much as I enjoy putting them together. And if you like my website, you may also like to join me on Facebook:
